Dayz logoff valid?

Hi, I just bought this game and joined your server Chicago 245. I came across a player named "Eli" and put a few rounds in his back then he logged off. I was in the process of typing when he logged back on and killed me. He openly admitted he was glad he killed me and didnt care that he logged off to avoid dying. Is this tolerated on your server?
