A little idea.

I was thinking perhaps I should buy a server. I have much experience with running, programming, owning, and populating servers. I have been playing CS since 2002-2003. I was thinking of making a SiN1/CKW clan server, not a clan merge but a server that two clans share. I'd give CKW clan members a certain level of admin, and the couple CKW members I trust FTP access perhaps. Also it might be a good idea to make a 4 member SiN1 clan and CKW clan "council" to make server decisions together as a senate type thing. With me overseeing and running a server I feel there will be less server shutdowns and steady flow. Just an idea I am throwing out there, let me know what you think.

I don't have a problem unless it competes with the FunMaps server.
I'll give you a good deal with a control panel/FTP. Our provider has a much better billing system, so we will never have accounting department issues again.

I may even be able to work out remote desktop access. We'll see.

I am the owner of the clan and the only member as of right now because I hadn't spent the time to work on it, or felt the need to. The help I'd ask from CKW is maybe hosting for FDL, let me know from you guys how much it'd cost a month for 20-24 slots I will look at other companies too.

I could get a server up as early as tonight if I have FDL support by CKW. the company I used to use will sell me .79/slot so that is plenty affordable for me. I'd just need an FDL host.

Sounds like a great idea to me. I still hope funmaps is going to come back to life soon thought as well. I'd be more then happy to help with this whole thing, though the only things i know very well are ftp and admin ... I don't really feel like learning how to install rtv plugin and listmaps plugin setup, etc.., but iam sure it's super easy and you already know how anyways.

I've always frequented at least 1 other server while funmaps was up, though I played on funmaps 80% of the time, I could work a sin1 server into my playing time

I planned on my server to be a fun map type server but not 100% dedicated to it, it will have a mix of stock maps as well as different plugins vs the CKW server. It would not be labeled on the server name as a "fun map" server either. I suppose it would be hybrid. I am ready to start the server I just need some FDL support from CKW before I do.
